It’s been slightly over a week since I set everything up, but I can finally say that I am happy with the results. Time to sit back and see if I can get to 5.0
This is on the main tracker that I use
This is over 7 years though
Wow that is awesome, the highest ratio I have ever seen was 10 I think.
10?! There’s users out there with infinite ratio on some trackers. Numbers in the thousands are not uncommon
Easy to get essentially infinite if you only download something small and cross seed a bunch.
Don’t download anything (unless there is a freeleach option) and cross seed, for infinity
Happens when majority of stuff is freeleech

Book and TV site in that order of screenshot, if so then yes :)
I aimed for 3.0 and later 5.0. My problem was rare selections and cult classics would struggle to reach a 1.0 ratio while pop media got 30+, and given I valued getting the rare stuff, usually after a long, patient download, I’d really want their numbers to climb.
The torrenters are fickle and we do what we can.
I would argue that if it’s from a site that has strict ratio rules, you are preventing some users from reaching an adequate ratio
I mostly use public trackers since I am only a part of one private tracker, so I shouldn’t be preventing users from reaching any ratio’s they need. This is just a snap from my qbit stats.
Once I realized that I had to get in early on hot torrents or freeleeching/neutral-leeching in order to get ahead, I definitely had a few torrents that looked like this lol.
After writing it out, it seems silly 🙃
What does the ratio mean and what is bad about preventing users from reaching one? Never used torrents in my entire life so curious what the meaning behind that is.
Sharing torrents in a private group is a zero sum game. Ideally you have everyone with a 1:1 ratio but if some users go far above that they are taking ratio from other users who might be fully willing to provide upload, but simply didn’t get there in time. You can set torrents to close after they reach a specific ratio, but that also means bringing down the availability of that torrent.
Also, it’s much harder to get to a 1:1 ratio if you only download less popular content because no one will download it from you for a long while.
Funny that since I’ve lost my 2000+ TB with 200+ ratio on a now defunct tracker, I’m reaaaaally conservative on my download as I only have a ratio of 33 on the new one. Yesterday I thought that fuck off, I have to download 190 TB to get to a ratio of 1, so let’s burn it before this tracker get down as well!
For trackers I focused on getting a 5 ratio and then after that idgaf and download whatever. Sure the prestige is nice, but once the tracker is gone you lose that prestige.
Seeding 24/7 for many years on private trackers and never had anything close to that. I used to buy seedbox to fix <1 ratio when I had crappy internet at home. Never seen a tracker that requires ratio higher than 1. Its good to see people contribute tho
Bless you.
you wanna brag? 188 TB upload vs 2.7 TB download only on one of the trackers that I use. what’s the point of this post?
Thar be seven seas, like the number o’ teeth ye has, ye festerin’, gutless mutineer!
Thank you for your service!
