do we have something akin to a “news megathread hall-of-fame”?
think the closest would just be c/effort, but it doesn’t see much traction. if someone were to do so i think it’d go best either there or in the news comm under a dedicated thread where the info is copy/pasted so we don’t lose it if someone deletes their account. a dedicated account just for that purpose would be ideal imo, though obviously a fair bit of work.
9·13 days agoas someone who has spent a lot of time both in the ER and at the regular doctor, the way non-white people are treated by medical staff is frequently blood-boiling. black people get treated like fucking criminals. people who speak english as a second language get treated like particularly dim children. it’s genuinely ghastly, and that’s before class enters the picture.
doctors have the capacity to be just as astoundingly ignorant as anyone else, unfortunately. it’s also VERY common

I find it shocking that 40% of first- and second-year medical students endorsed the belief that “black people’s skin is thicker than white people’s.”
