  • Demonstrates their point by raging-out unintelligibly. Never mentions gender. Commenters say its about hating women. Sure.

Emotional Intelligence at a singular level amounts to taking the appropriate time to compose oneself, but at the same time, just because one shows emotion doesn’t mean they don’t have a point.

I agree OP was likely rejected by someone, but I’ve seen gay men and lesbians use these phrases to try to manipulate their SO or counteract their SO’s bullshit, more often the “calm” one overtly attempting manipulation and gaslighting.

Bringing gender or “misogyny” into it is laughably besides-the-point to me. I saw a meme page try to say the 90%-of-prisoners-are-men statistic means its men who are overly-emotional, like the people who say women are too emotional have a point re:emotions, and only got the “women” part wrong. My fellow bitches, the “calm” ones are not on your side.

  • The hospital has repeatedly made efforts to coordinate her departure with family members and offered transportation to obtain necessary identification, the lawsuit said.

That part says plenty to me. They haven’t actually established that she has anywhere to go. One thing I don’t miss about Taxi and Rideshare driving: transporting people directly from ERs to homeless shelters. I’ve had hospitals try to get me to pickup people wearing nothing but hospital gowns, no possessions, rolled out in a wheel-chair the hospital was keeping and requiring someone to physically load them into the vehicle.

Saving the sly retrieval of the hospital’s bedpan for last was a nice touch on their part - no healthcare “professional” should be so smooth at all this, and comfortable with it, as these people are.

Mind you, in my state, any form of physical contact between hired driver and passenger is illegal outside of dedicated medical transportation services - I COULD NOT LEGALLY help them leave the vehicle. I thank God I drove Taxi for the year before Uber and Lyft came to my town so that I had the time to learn this stuff, and I was stupid-sad the day it became clear that Ride-share was going to be no better about it than the Taxi service.

Actually, greedy-ass Uber and Lyft are worse for doing fuck-all to be sure that drivers know the laws on it in advance. I am amazed I’ve never heard of them and the health-insurance companies being sued into oblivion over the lack of due-diligence alone. I used to literally dream of being put on the stand to testify against them -not nightmares, dreams.

Shudder to think of the situations I and these patients could have been stuck in if I didn’t call-ahead to the destinations to make sure there was someone there to help un-load, nevermind the times I either refused the ride on patient-safety grounds or drove them to another ER by (obviously valid)request. A few times I was able to convince a nicer shelter to take certain individuals in, but mostly I just felt powerless along with these victims.

  • Start by buying the Steam version of Wallpaper Engine … https://www.google.com/search?q=linux-wallpaperengine+mint

… basically, you can run the Windows version of Wallpaper Engine on Linux, however, the best choice for you as to how to go about it, or whether you need wallpaper-engine to do what you want at all, is going to vary by your Desktop Environment and with what you are actually trying to accomplish. There is wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin (for KDE Plasma), for example.

Yes, there are other apps for video-wallpapers or using cloud wallpaper services on Linux, but again, what you need to get what you want depends on what exactly what you want from your wallpaper.

  • Has the Demon King even been introduced in Konosuba? His Generals have mostly been reasonable, to the point I fully expect Kazuma to have more difficulty with the WHY than the HOW versus the Demon King.

Satella, I can’t argue that one without spoilers, but from early-on we can see she’s more a lingering force of nature than a clear and present danger. The people who want her back to center-stage, on the other hand …

Tanya … has a LOT of killing to do before there will be time for some obvious conclusions.

Then Naufumi … yeah, its not clear whether whoever set things up in such a bizarre fashion is still alive or meddling, but in their absence “the state of things” is plenty to struggle against.

    spoiler

I find myself agreeing with the Blacksmith about Naufumi as an enemy though. Those ladies are overtly so, so goddamned far from satisfied with head-pats and verbal praise - Naufumi pretty much needs them to come to blows before he ends up as a reverse/enslaved Ring King. He might be safer with Bitch, before too long.

Momon? Ainz is too busy wiping the shit from their boots from all the ASPIRING/would-be big-bads constantly ding-dong-ditching Him like its the most brilliant plan ever, to have the time to consider being slightly more evil than the world’s most powerful pro-bono stable-boy/dog-walker. Demiurge? … is accidentally kinder than 95% of that world’s people, even when it comes to flaying … mammals … for vellum. A quick death is a very good day in THE-Gnostic-Demiurge-would-tell-the-people-who-made-this-one-to-chill-out-for-a-second-world.

  • Paste Special>>Values … its not that hard to get static values from the Clipboard, and if you’re copying between different spreadsheet programs or even into existing nested tables, the Values, not the formulas or linked data pointers, are already generally what you’re going to get.

The proper response to someone showing you the solution to a problem is rarely, if ever, “yes but, without trying it, here’s why I think it shouldn’t work unless you first re-invent the wheel”.

Walking it back at the end where you pretend OP wanted to take away the existing functionality was a nice touch. You so-obviously deserve the four up-votes your comment got for that alone.

  • Words I have to resist typing every time I’m called-upon to defend a one-off comment I’m un-pleasently-surprised I can remember making, but all-too-often, not the why.

I really should charge more for attempting to channel me-from-twelve-hours-ago. Oh, and polishing that ass-hole’s non-sense into something I’ll be even more confused-about tomorrow. I want to say “Stop asking me to iterate, it only gets worse”, but then I see the gibberish posing as a counter-point and realize, yes, we can make eachother worse.

  • Ex-pats paid-up on their taxes are entitled to all of the protections any other citizen is entitled-to, else what are they paying those taxes for?

Your argument falls doubly-flat when the US isn’t even bothering to assist the tourists, so I’m not getting where you feel this thread is the place to remind everyone that you believe expats to be the scum-of-the-earth because …

… because what? They realized US Citizenship is worth more than US residence? Or rather, it was, until now. Oh, and this state of things is magically their fault too.

Must be why Republicans are pushing so hard to disenfranchise them, and even/espescially their children, because when one thinks scum-of-the-earth, we can’t neglect to despise those born in foreign lands without the good sense to return to the land of their parents birth. Hard pass, miss me with that non-sense.

You seem confused in thinking I see “ex-pat” as a desirable, enviable, or admirable status. On the contrary, while I don’t believe one should have to give up citizenship in one country to live in another, I don’t see for a second why money earned in one country should be taxed anywhere else - taxes should be paid to the country where that money is earned.

Even said country charging ex-pats more than its own citizens would make more sense, but every penny in taxes paid to the US from Ex-pats is money that would otherwise go to their local economy - arguably money being extracted from it. Nothing more or less than a tool of Empire.

  • Uncle Sam’s not going to care about that if they have to make money where they are to find their way home. “We won’t turn our overseas tourists into stranded expats who owe us taxes for the privilege of affording to come home” is the implicit promise being broken.

Expats are supposed to be able rely on the US government to help them get home in a pinch as-well, else they might as well ALL renounce their citizenship.

EDIT: highlighted, not added, the words “turn” and “into”, for those convinced any and all American tourists left to their own devices can make it home before January without a dime more than they’ve brought with them, from countries whose transportation and monetary infrastructure are and are going-to-be subject to repeated and un-predictable disruption for the forseeable future, to say nothing of the availability and affordability of room and board.
