The ‘realistic’ part absolutely ruined it for me. It made every scifi element basically require critical analysis over suspension of disbelief for me, and I know a lot of science and tech about a lot of things. It’s all garbage in the show.

While the show was trying to breathe, it had me sitting there going, “why didn’t they realize that sooner?”, “why the fuck did the scientist do that?”, “why are they doing this alone!?”, “that plane requires multiple crew!”, “that’s a terrible way to deal with someone who doesn’t trust you!”, etc, etc… It’s a lot of garbage past the veneer of realism.

Naaaahhhh, WAY too many conveniences for it to be anything but an inside job. Sure, the evidence is circumstantial, but people have been put on death row for less.

Nope, I’ve pretty much heard it verbatim from some church colleagues (I don’t go any more). I love asking, “well did you choose to be straight?”, because the ones who stammer and sputter and shoot back a, “did you?!”. The looks on their face when I say, “Nope! I wish I was, because I have so many gay friends I wouldn’t be wanting for options!” or similar, priceless.

Even the few who get pissed off never have a good retort to that. It’s like watching an old computer struggle to stay responsive. It’s either straight to ad hominems and name calling pretty much ignoring the whole conversation happened like the entire “Question the Gays” app crashed, or they struggle to reconcile their shitty world views for damn minutes on end.

Doesn’t inking something mean you write it in ink? As in create the contract? I’d think that’s slightly different than signing.

Also, both sound just fine when it’s about a contract that was definitely both created and signed by the cited entities.
