For what it’s worth, I didn’t find you offensive. I can already tell you are going to be a great community member here!

Don’t fret Mia, I’ll keep you company in the uncool club!
Unfortunately, there is no conversion factor as the rate at which we break down the esters is unique to each person. Your best shot is to start on a nominal dosage, regardless of what you were on before, and adjust from there based on blood tests.
Estrodiol esters is usually dissolved in MCT oil (or another oil to avoid allergens) which is more viscous than water. I use 22G to draw and 25G inject personally. As for how fast 30G will be, it depends on how hard you push (to a limit). It will work and you will get an idea for the time it will take when drawing. There is quite a bit of leeway in setup so I would try not to stress over it too much. If it becomes too annoying, you can just lower the gauge when you get more needles later.
30G is a little on the thin side, but manageable. Just expect it to take longer to draw and inject.

traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns@hexbear.net•??? - Trans Megathread for July 20th through July 26th, 2026
2·5 days agoThe way that worked for me is to do it all at once as much as possible. This way, supportive people can help you come out. I only personally came out to about 5% of the people I know. Everyone else found out through them. It heavily depends on your situation and preferences though.

Your name is deeply personal, do I won’t say any one or another, as the best name is the name you choose. To help you choose I will ask a few questions for you to answer for yourself (you don’t need to tell us the answers if you don’t want to, they are to help guide you):
- Do you want to keep the first letter of your deadname? (Can make some admin easier, and less likely to cause dysphoria from seeing old initials)
- Do you want a more unique name or a more common name?
- Do you want a personal story behind your name choice?
- Do you want (or want to avoid) stereotypical transfemme names?
- Do you care about how it flows phonetically into your surname (if you are keeping it)?
Then, once you have your list, ask trusted friends or family to try calling you by these names and see what you prefer. Note that if you are not out to them yet, you can do the classic move of playing a DND character with your proposed name.
Good luck and enjoy the journey!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Musicians: what's your experience with multiple instruments?
2·9 days agoI have played the mandolin. I prefer to try to master one instrument than play loads, but piano is too useful not too know the basics. I still have a long way to go to achieve mastery of guitar…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Musicians: what's your experience with multiple instruments?
3·9 days agoI mean the left hand probably translates well. Hitting the notes depends more on the construction of your guitar, since if the neck bends, the strings have to stretch further. Unlike on a violin, you can’t move your finger in the fret to change the pitch much, so it will never sound that good. Not sure why your partner thinks that a guitar is like a percussion instrument though. Unless they only played tamboura haha.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Musicians: what's your experience with multiple instruments?
7·9 days agoI’ve found instruments typically come on groups, where learning an instrument in a group will help more with another. Eg learning guitar will help more with playing a mandolin than a piano. Instruments that typically use the same clef are closer together etc.
If you want to self host, I’ve been having a great success with NextCloud, which would fit the bill perfectly and have room for further capability if you wanted it down the road.
From what you described, it sounds like you may be agender, ie don’t have a gender. Not that you have to use a label or anything, but if you want to explore it further, it might help too know what to look up ;)
