I’m still updating this daily, I’ll get that in there soon. I only made the “stable” 2.0 release now because I wanted to get all the instances using the ancient v1.34 up to date

I’m really sorry about that, I used a different script to generate the translation reports for this release note than the credits page in the app. The first one only took the top 1 translator, and then I filled what I thought I missed.
I edited the post. Translation is a great dedication of time and I apologize for not recognizing the time you put.
Just change the image version. It should work as normal:
image: ghcr.io/xyphyn/photon:v2.0.0 # preferably use latest
or from the shell
docker run ghcr.io/xyphyn/photon:v2.0.0
Xylight@lemdro.idto Linux@lemmy.ml•What do you prefer: icon view or detailed list view?English13·4 days agoI prefer details since it’s easier for me to scan visually, with my eyes only having to go straight down, to find either a name, date, or size. Sorting I also find more intuitive. However, I prefer icon view for my pictures and videos folders

I don’t like calling myself a JS/TS dev but my biggest project that I currently work on is written in it, so I had to try it.
16/28. I mean it’s incredible how I can throw a diabolical amount of variations of formatting at it and somehow get valid dates.
Not to advertise, but you could try Photon. It’s what Tesseract was forked from wayyy back as me and the tesseract dev’s philosophies split.
It’s more opinionated, and features are carefully organized compared to Tesseract where plenty of shortcuts and links are given (which isn’t bad at all, just targets different preferences).

I have updated it to combine them again. The reason I undid it before, was because the sorting is client side. The Lemmy API doesn’t provide a correct way to do it, so the timestamps may appear confusing.

The current version of Photon uses the inline reply style, so this is fixed
Xylight@lemdro.idto Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL Disney killed a bunch of puppies making "Snow Buddies" and weren't allowed to use the "no animals were harmed" claimEnglish26·20 days agoTranscription
An American Humane Certified Safety Representative visited the Snow Buddies set on the first day of filming. Fifteen Golden Retriever puppies were on set and fifteen other were being treated by a local veterinarian, and their illnesses were eventually diagnosed as Giardia and Coccidia. On request from the representative the remaining puppies on set received additional veterinary checks. Twenty-five of the puppies were from an American breeder and five were from a Canadian breeder. It was discovered that the puppies were approximately 8 weeks old, which lead to the belief that the puppies were only 6 weeks old when they were brought by the trainer to the movie set. Per the USDA it was at the time illegal to transport puppies under the age of 8 weeks.
After the removal of all 30 puppies, 28 older Golden Retriever puppies were brought in to continue filming. All of the 28 older puppies were exposed to parvovirus. Five of the puppies died, and up to six others fell ill after exposure to the virus.
As a result, the film was not permitted to use the “No animals were harmed…” disclaimer and received an “Unacceptable” marking from the American Humane Association.
I’ll stick to FUTA.
I generally try to make photon depend as little as possible on external APIs, especially specific ones.
However, I was thinking of a system to let instance admins choose for themselves if they want their hosting of photon to have it, perhaps through a “plugin” system. I could add a threativore/fediseer plugin that you could specify configuration to.
I probably wouldn’t add it on my phtn.app, but I can add “plugins” so that you could use it on lemmy.dbzer0.com.
