The title could be something descriptive like “The Beauty of Space”, “Space is Beautiful”, “Breathtaking Space Imagery”, or just simply “Space”.
The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it’s real because that’s how powerful our minds are. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, “Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?” And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, “Hey, don’t worry; don’t be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.” And we… kill those people.
It’s just a ride.

Just as far fetched, yes.
Exactly my reasoning for holding off too.
For games that doesn’t support Steam Cloud for saves etc., or in general moving files over to the Steam Deck from your PC, I highly recommend setting up Syncthing.
It’s available on the Discover store in desktop mode and can be set up to run as a service to ensure that it’s always running on Steam Deck, if you’re so inclined. There’s a myriad of guides out there if you search around, should you need help setting it up.
Not much was lost. Both Gizmodo and Kotaku content have already been indistinguishable from poorly generated AI content for ages now.
You can start by boosting instead of using the arrow, which is actually currently only counting as favoriting and does nothing to counter any reduces on a post. It’s an oversight that’s being worked on and will eventually change, as I’ve understood it.
And now nitter no longer works.
Definitely will be keeping my eye on this one.
OVPN still seems to support port forwarding, though it’s worth pointing out they were recently acquired by Pango.
I highly recommend using nitter instances to look at content from Twitter. And with the excellent LibRedirect extension, the process becomes seamless and you can bounce between instances as you please.
Oh and the carrying/storage case it comes with seems to be different for the 512GB version. Not sure about the 256GB version though.
Does the eMMC version allow installing an NVMe drive?
Yes, the only hardware difference between the different version is really only the screen and the drive it comes with. You can technically buy the 64GB version and replace the screen with an anti-glare one at a later date, as it can be bought as a spare part for not much.
Personally I got the 64GB some time ago and am still happy enough with just an SD-card with good speed and decent size. I suspect that will change down the line, but right now I’m happy.
It’s the second time it’s been discounted so far. The first time was on March 23rd this year, on Steam Deck’s first birthday.
Stay away from DInput (DirectInput) only controllers as much as possible if you also have the intention to use it on Windows. Unfortunately, many of those cheaper Chinese telescopic or clip-on phone/tablet controllers only support DInput and not XInput, which will make it a right pain to get to work in most situations. It’s not something that’s clearly stated anywhere usually either, so keep that in mind.
However, if you do happen to find a Chinese controller, and there are some okay ones out there, that unfortunately only has DInput; there exists a fantastic tool to emulate XInput called XOutput that I would highly recommend!
Never played the first but would buy it in a heartbeat to play on the Steam Deck.
For what it’s worth, the game works perfectly out of the box on Steam Deck via Proton, didn’t even had to force compatibility to use any specific Proton version. So at least it does work, and you can see others being successful on protondb too as linked by @PeachMan.
Here’s an example of what I think we’ll be seeing more of: A user getting called out and named for frequently downvoting: https://kbin.social/m/wholesome/t/80838/To-the-one-guy-who-keeps-downvoting-m-wholesome-threads
Don’t think this is the last we’ll see of this, and I think it definitely has the potential to impact peoples participation in the long run, with people self-censoring themselves out of fear of being called out for voting wrong.
Wish the time played per operating system returned, that was highly useful to me in order to track my playtime on Steam Deck.
Quote from Valve Hardware Warranty.
In other words, simply changing SSD doesn’t void warranty, but damaging the Steam Deck in the process of doing so does.
