Doing a bit of travel so wasn’t able to watch this stage. Sounds like it’s worthwhile though. Pogi attacking on the Champs? Peoples rider indeed.

Nice to see Pogi found his legs again.
Hoping for an awesome 2024 edition with Pog, Vinge and Remco battling it out to the end!
Yeah fair enough. Disappointment is subjective, so we’re all going to have different takeaways.
The disappointment for me was because the race was lost today. Pog cracked so hard his other rivals gained significant time on him while Vinge extended to an insurmountable lead. If Vinge attacked and Pog couldn’t follow, it would have been one thing, but it’s always disappointing seeing someone crack so hard they go backwards.
I don’t particularly fanboy over anyone, so for me it takes a bit of the excitement away when someone dominates, as it detracts from the racing.
Was not expecting to wake up to that this morning. Pog has really cracked. I wonder if this is what his GTs will look like now or if his prep affected him significantly. His numbers have been huge this year, is Jonas just that one level above?
Jonas is an absolute weapon. Other social media sites are understandably asking questions regarding legitimacy, but I think he’s fair dinkum. Disappointing end to the GC comp, hopefully we get a fight to the end next year.
Holy shit, that performance from Vinge was just inhuman. You can’t fault Pogi, but Vinge is just on another level.
It’s funny, I’ve noticed the yellow helmets and number tags changing teams a lot this year, so I’ve been following it. It’s been as close as the GC!
The last time I took notice was during the Movistar trident days, when nobody cared except them.
You have to feel for Wout missing the focus on him. What a win too! Well deserved and fantastic to see him get the win for the split second it showed him!
Top two are insanely evenly matched. They’re both looking spent after every stage. It couldn’t be closer!
MVPs for Jonas: Wout van Aert, Sepp Kuss, Camera Motorbike.
What an epic stage though. More battles to come! My favourite TdF to date.
I thought he was trying to put Van Gils between him and Vinge but didn’t quite get the timing right.
I also noticed Vinge almost collapsed at the line and needed assistance to move away from the finish line (as did a lot of others). I think they’re both giving their max.
With GC positions 4-8 all within about a minute of eachother, I’d expect to see a bit of a shake up there.
It’s amazing how strong all these riders are - tour winning numbers in any other generation, but Pogacar and Vingegaard are just that much better. What do the others need to eat for brekkie to get on the same level?
Sagan evidently not. Crazy pace so far. Love these stages where the break struggles to form.
If I was a betting man, there’s zero chance I’d place money on this, but Peter Sagan drawing the energy of past Peter Sagans and getting into the breakaway, then dropping his breakaway compatriots on the final climb and descending like Green Jersey Peter for a monumental final TdF win is what I’m going to fantasise about for this stage.
Fun stage so far. Good to see Ben O has found his legs. Hoping the breakaway stays away today, but I also want to see GC fireworks.
Just caught up this morning. Puy de Dome was such a great and unique climb to watch. It was such a fantastic way to round out week one of racing.
With the GC gap down to 17 seconds between JV and TP, week two is going to be epic!
Vinge looked gas yesterday and TJV burnt a few bikkies chasing the break for WvA. I reckon this one will be down to the line between Pog and Vinge.
Want to also say thanks to @Krob for putting up these threads. It’s hard building a community from scratch, but it’s great seeing these threads pop up consistently and reasonable participation here.
Ahh fuck. Not like this Cav. Absolutely gutted for him.
He’s on a winning streak for sure!
Aussie bias says Caleb is getting closer with every sprint, so he’s gotta get it. JP with a MvdP lead out has just been too solid a combo this TdF though, it seems very likely to continue.
Jai, noooooo!
TJV is just so dominant right now. Very different tactics to Sky in its heyday, but same results.
How good was that stage! Holy moly. This is going to be a good tour!
Yep. I’ve seen hens scalp their own chicks because they were a different colour from the others.
