Finally after months of laziness, I have light again.

I AM THE LIGHTBRINGER!

The reason I put it off for so long was I wasn’t sure how to handle it.

Honestly? It was super straightforward. I needed wire snips, wire strippers, a Phillips screwdriver, and some wire nuts. The only thing that will be different for you with the fan as opposed to me with the light is that the fan should have three wires to mess with.

I once had to replace the little 4-way switch thingemejig that cord pulls on. Those things are hard to find. I’m ethically against using AliExpress, but that was the only place I could find one.

Fixed a non-working ceiling fan/light for about €1.50 (incl shipping), where a new fan would cost about €100

Yeah, we were looking at just buying a new fan, but nothing really looked good for any reasonable price here in the states.

Eventually we’ll get a new one, but for now I’ll take the $2 switch fix.
