There’s got to be more too it than that. Like is there some kind of normalization of mass killing in liberalism? Is it nationalist brainworms and assigning all the misdeeds of the nation to the individual?

That’s definitely part of it imo. The west has gotten very adept at rationalizing why mountains of bodies are necessary to protect our very righteous and good culture.

Ask any lib what they think about the US killing 20% of North Korea’s entire population in the Korean War and you’ll get your answer

I did this once and the admin of the server did the lib thing. He went as far as comparing Kim to Hitler (for invading the South??? And South = Poland???) but the take was so bad the other libs on this (very small) server actually refreshingly turned on him for it, and they were his mods so he backtracked. Idk I think he probably still thinks that though.

I was doing it to point out that if we had to stick to said admins’ no 9/11 jokes rule, that the post some random user made making fun of the bombings of NK shouldnt be ok either. After the mods sided me he ended up saying agreeing with me from a moderation sense, but like I said I’m sure he still feels that way about the Korean War.

In a vacuum libs are for peace (“rules-based international order”) and reactionaries are the ones openly calling to act like an empire (Ted Cruz’s comment on “let’s find out if sand can glow”). When the wheels hit the pavement they act about the same, but they view themselves differently, justify imperial actions differently, and respond differently to hypotheticals.

But libs have been exposed to the same pro-military propaganda as everyone else, and let’s be honest, a lot of military gadgets are pretty fucking cool, so they’re shamelessly horny for a just war. Convince them the current war is actually a clear-cut good vs. evil struggle and they’ll use the opportunity to cheerlead the military like they’d be embarrassed to in Vietnam Grenada Iraq Panama Afghanistan Iraq again one of those bad wars we’ve regretfully stumbled into in the past.

Not so much mass killing as mass killing of enemies.

It’s not just “Russia bad” that’s been shoved into their brains every second of the day for 40 years, it’s that Russia is ontologically, completely, irredeemably evil. Russians and other designated enemies have been so dehumanized as to no longer “count” for liberals when they talk about mass murder.

Nuance has left the American media. “Russia Evil, Russian just regular people“ doesn’t get clicks.

      Bring back fair doctrine, please.
