    A significant portion of New York’s electricity is produced by burning natural gas and fuel oil. There are multiple hidden costs that fossil fuel advocates don’t want you to think about: https://www.ucsusa.org/resources/hidden-costs-fossil-fuels

    One of the objections to reducing emissions in the US came in the question “why should we pay more for everything and reduce emissions when China and other developing countries do whatever they want?” I think this is a valid question, tho not a valid excuse to dump more CO2 into the atmosphere. But it makes me think of a similar question:

    Why should the rest of us finance New York’s cheap power at the expense of our environment?

      Even if you thought that paying extra was worth saving the environment, the wind farm is making $54 per MWH in profit. A 30% profit margin with all those subsidies is obscene.
