I will be streaming a Super Bowl livestream on https://live.hexbear.net/c/news at 3:30pm PST. Come root for your team!
EDIT: Livestreams are harder to find than I thought. We’re still chatting in Hextube however and there are several livestream options once you get there. Kendrick’s halftime show coming up.
I have never watched an American football game in my life and am just utterly baffled by the sheer amount of ads. How do people watch this shit?
Yeah it’s not a sport it’s an advertising opportunity
Yeah, but so is football proper, just that there is at least a continuous game being played and televised in football proper.
The ads are the best part!
Sometimes we get iconic moments like![emoji pepsi pepsi](https://hexbear.net/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hexbear.net%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2Ffff2e22f-2540-4ec8-94ae-8a248c06a33e.png)
There are breaks in play for ads, it’s nuts. Like intentional stoppage specifically to show ads
There’s on average about 11 minutes of actual game play where the ball is moving in football. The rest of the 3 hours is all commentary and ads.
I have no idea how this sport became so popular because it’s like this at every level, from peewee flag football to college to the NFL.
All forms of football, rugby, gridiron, and association, are very slow games. I do not know why they are so popular, they minimize entertainment while maximizing injury to players.
As a new sports fan, used to hold your thoughts on it, it is legitimately less about the sport itself and more about being better than the other cities.
It’s a form of city to city warfare.
I know, I’m just a basketball guy and if given the chance to shit on four other sports at once, I will take it.
