I never heard of Meduza before so this was an interesting read. That Kovalev guy seems incredibly unhinged. I am curious as to why he left, “political persecution” is too vague for me. That may be true but I want to know the nitty gritty. Also hose games dedicated to clowning on Putin is definitely… a choice. By that I mean it’s no t groundbreaking or effective resistance to someone they claim to be a psycho dictator. If that is true then they are not doing enough to defeat it. Anyway, hit dogs holler and it’s hilarious to see how this is another case of major projection.

Meduza in one of those medias that you just need one look at to recognize Goebbels* textbook at work, a “good Russian” dissident media created and aimed to ferment government change in country opposed to western imperialism, also doubling as prime source of ridiculous propaganda, pardon me, “independent and true information” from the “entirely censored authoritarian dictatorship” for libs and westolefto.

Of course the “antiauthoritarians” went total crickets over all their medias that tankies always warned them to be too similar to US govt position being revealed as straight up US govt propaganda tubes.

*It’s not a hyperbole, Goebbels pioneered this kind of action, creating 3 different radios sowing dissent in USSR before the invasion, each aimed at different kind of malcontents, including one “antiauthoritarian”.

meduza (together with mediazona) is super popular among liberal russians. they actually have some good takes on lgbt stuff, but yeah everything else is pretty much just regurgitated western takes.

That’s interesting. It’s a shame that their good aspects get bogged down by their pro-western angle, to me that would undermine what they’re trying to say. Of course the same can be said about the opposite media in Russia, those that have great geopolitical analysis but are bad on LGBT stuff. Then again, what resonates more with the population? I think one could strike a balance between being pro-lgbt and anti-west, you just have to use different examples and language. Anyway I am rambling lol
