Good man. Even if Harris won, the fact we elected a guy that tried to overturn an election AND renominated and voted him into the office he was trying to steal is enough proof that we were a garbage country before he even got sworn in.

We Canadians will remember the lack of votes to:

    1. End this nonsense
    2. Stop the executive branch from making up crises to violate any agreement they want. Evidence be damned.
    3. Accept this declaration of economic war on your closest ally.

If this does not pass the US. can never again be trusted with any agreement or deal, so none should be bothered to make them.

the US. can never again be trusted with any agreement or deal

This already holds true now. The trade agreement between the US and Canada is the one that he signed. He went back on it anyway. And then after you guys appeased him by dedicating $1.3 billion to a nonexistent fentanyl issue, he did it again.

I’m going to assume you’re not Canadian due to the “you guys” part and let you know that the $1.3 billion was already agreed to with Biden and was pre-allocated specifically for border control purposes at the end of 2024.

Sad to say, I’m an American.

And yes, I did know that. But it’s my understanding that this was agreed to in an attempt to pre-emptively appease an incoming Trump administration, but I could be wrong on that part. But whether or not that’s the case, Trump still originally agreed to not put the tariffs in place because of this, until he changed his mind.

I don’t entirely mind that initial effort to just show how utterly fruitless playing by their rules are, and that this has nothing to do with fentanyl at all.

forcing a vote to nullify the emergency declaration that underpins the tariffs on Canada.

One wonders why any president should have had this power to begin with.

The Poutine accord: Hereby written and to be enshrined into law and agreement: upon the rescission of tariffs previously imposed by individual-1 and a public apology, Canada hereby announces it’s intention to restore fair market to all previously limited American products and make available upon the fulfillment of the following condition: Ingesting no blood control medication or compounds designed to aid in the ease of digestion or control levels of cholesterol, individual-1 agrees to, upon witness by present representative of Canadian government and the livestream thereof, consume no fewer than 8(eight) servings of Poutine a day, each serving weighing no less then 330 grams (or 2 pounds, if you insist on using imperial measurements.) This condition will apply until the length of time elapses equivalent to the length of time between when the excessive tariffs were enacted until the time of their removal.

In the unlikely circumstance that a serving is not streamed for viewing a recording of the event will be accepted as long as the Canadian representative is visible in the frame and there is irrefutable proof of the current date provided. Should these criteria be unable to be met also acceptable is doubling either the (a) serving size of the remaining servings constituting the remainder of the agreement of the (b) amount of servings per day.

The undersigned parties agree to stated terms fully and without reservation.

Interested to see how this turns out. The repub constituents are already sending death threats and yelling at town halls. If they see costs go up as a result of the repubs not voting to stop the tarrifs, a neuron might fire.

No, they’ll blame Trump but never make the connection between him and the GOP, right-wing propaganda like Fox, and billionaires who prop the whole thing up.

        That takes two brain cells.
