Like Frivolous_Beatnik said, he’s not really more lib as much as its an, and I don’t really know of a better way of saying it, having the wrong reaction to whats going on. Prior to the election he had already more or less said that voting for Kamala wouldn’t be the worst thing to prevent a Trump presidency, although he wasn’t exactly endorsing her either. I haven’t watched the latest video, but when I saw it pop up on my feed I had a bad feeling. Its disappointing that he feels the need to go to bat for Dems when so many of his videos have pointed out how bad the party has been, especially when it comes to policing policy.
He still says they’re bad, but his vibe is that Kamala would’ve been significantly different and she was kept out of office by systemic racism and misogyny which, while that’s part of it sure, is still ignoring the effect that endorsing the most publicly visible genocide in history might have on the voting populace. That, and her essentially promising nothing would get better.
Racism and sexism does play into it, but less so in the primaries where it was obvious she wasn’t a good candidate. Dems still gush over Obama and Hillary Clinton. They simply don’t like Harris because she’s a slimeball. Minorities within the Democrats especially don’t like her because she’s a cop.
But really it’s like you said, she promised nothing would fundamentally change. Dems forgot Biden only won because Trump mishandled covid. Once Biden got into office? He allowed Trump’s policies to continue, including ignoring covid.
I know a lot of democrats were upset they didn’t get to vote in a primary to replace Biden. Even though they may have liked Harris, they still felt cheated she was automatically the candidate to replace Biden.
I don’t think liberals give enough of a shit about Palestine they’d stay home. While a contributing factor among independents outside of the party, within the party it was a combination of what I said above.
