The tariffs make them more expensive than they should be, but it is positioned as a luxury brand so it was marketed to affluent buyers anyway. BYD EVs are everywhere in Mexico and they have no problem charging in the US when they cross the border. The CEO of Ford has been driving a Xiaomi SU7 which he raves about, but it’s only temporarily here under some manufacturer’s exemption loophole.
