    To be honest it makes a bit more sense to me now… I used to have this nagging thought in my head: “ok, yeah… Russia is funding all the social disinformation campaigns and more, but Facebook alone is worth more than Russia’s GDP and Zuckerberg is powerless to stop them?”

      Yes, the US may have been our military ally until recently, but on all other levels they actually have been hostile towards Europe for a long time.

      Just as you say, you only ever hear in the media about what the Russians or the Chinese are doing that’s bad, but they always fail to mention that the USA is probably even worse. Just one example of many is that the NSA demonstrably spied on the former German Chancellor - and that was a long time ago. And still: some of our own politicians are now even considering to introduce Palantir (US surveillance software) in Europe. How this is possible is completely beyond me.
