That’s an indication of privilege and income inequality, not importance. Having the highest amount of people hoarding enormous amounts of wealth isn’t exactly a positive sign of anything.

If they had been putting that wealth to constructive use by paying taxes, driving R&D into novel solutions to actual problems or creating jobs, instead of pursuing Joyrides to Mars or throwing the money in the burning hell-pit of AI to get out of paying humans and / or exploiting what workers they haven’t gotten rid of yet, then maybe we could talk importance.

Instead, the money is spent on subverting democracy and ushering in oligarchy in an attempt to insulate them from the consequences of their own actions.
