    For those, who doesn’t want to read the article: the cat jumped onto the turned off stove and accidentally pressed a button, thus igniting the stove. There were combustible items on the stove so that it caught on fire in less than a minute. Cat was unharmed.

    Conclusion: sadly, but pets are like kids and force us to be more cautious with potentially dangerous items. More sadly that it is way harder to teach pets that stoves are dangerous.

      I didn’t click the link but can assume the cat didnt put flammable things on the stove

        Well, sure thing. But even without flammable materials on the stove it is still dangerous to have a working stove. Personally, I have a stove with a child proof setting for the oven and the gas control for the top section, so that you have to turn the knob and press it for a few seconds, otherwise the stove will turn itself off preventing the accidental ignition.
