The new emails have alleged that Epstein grew Angel’s Trumpet plants from the genus Brugmansia or Datura, which contain a highly toxic substance called scopolamine.

The substance is often referred to as “Devil’s Breath” or the “zombie dr*g,” due to its ability to induce extreme suggestibility, memory loss, and even loss of free will.

Wow, datura is a deliriant. That’s some messed up stuff. Like running down the street naked because the werewolf is chasing you kind of messed up. Talking to people that aren’t there type stuff.

And it causes a lot of diarrhea and vomiting and can cause temporary blindness.

This is not the fun tripping kind of drug.

It’s nightmare bath salts like drug.

It has also been associated with memory blackouts.

A friend had a bunch of Jimson weed (dautra) growing out on his property (hippies out in the country) and I remarked what pretty flowers they were. Huge big white flowers that look like morning glory but like really gigantic.

He told me they were super poisonous. Not to even touch them. Said he had already cut a bunch down but they kept growing back. He had outdoor pets. Said he was going to have to basically poison the soil to get rid of them. Next I visited he had managed to get rid of them.

Too risky even for the pets. Yes the flowers were very aesthetic. Not worth the risk.

No one keeps poisonous flowers like that for aesthetics. When they are so toxic.

I do. They were here when I moved in and are common in the area. Animals, including my pets, aren’t interested in them and they aren’t a problem if you don’t eat them. Since I learned what they are I do wash my hands after handling them out of an abundance of caution but I’m not getting rid of them because they grow well and look awesome.

Yeah this, I’m sure Epstein raped and drugged tons of minors but I don’t think he needed to grow datura to do that. It’s just a somewhat common plant to have. There are loads of better daterape drugs, especially for someone who is wealthy enough to own their own rape-island.

Even the legendary Terence McKenna didn’t use datura. He did try it a bunch, but apparently found little to no use for it.

Unfortunately some animals learn to avoid it from trying it. But I’m sure, like a lot of poisonous plants, it’s probably pretty bitter for most animals.

My buddy had chickens and a peacock running around and birds will sometimes eat a lot of random stuff.

They sure are very pretty flowers and seem to grow easy.

Just too bad they are so dangerous.

I had one pop up and was surprised to discover what it was, as they are super pretty. Was pretty bummed that I had to kill it. There were addicts in that house before us so, not too surprised.

Was he drugging his victims: ✅️
Was he DIYing his own drugs to do it with: ❌️

It’s a prescription medication and pretty easily available on the recreational market, no way was he spending the time to brew up artisinal batches of his date rape drugs instead of just buying them alongside all the other drugs we know he was using. They’re just pretty flowers.

There any evidence for him having them pick it or are we just speculating on fucked up things he could have done - because there’s more than enough hard evidence of the fucked up shit he actually did, we don’t need to fantasize about how much worse it could have been.

It just read to me like some of the borderline horny stuff the truecrime fandom comes up with (the ones writing the Epstein fanfic, yea it’s a thing), which I know wasn’t your intent.

He was off the scales horrible by any metric you choose to use, and fantasizing about how he could have done some hollywood serial killer power move shit just doesn’t need to happen here. We’ve got video of him getting a neck massage while underage girls dance naked in his tacky office next to a stack of paternity tests, like… Isn’t that bad enough?

If there’s evidence that he used it I wouldn’t be shocked, but the credible evidence indicates he preferred his drugs refined. He doesn’t seem to have grown a poison garden, which is what I’d expect from someone with complete pharmaceutical access that is just into using natural poisons like datura on victims. He’s far more likely to give a modern date rape drug mixed with alcohol, cocaine, or even food or water based on what we know, and for the datura to simply be a beautiful flower that he did brag about its effects, but didn’t use.

These fake stories are disingenuous or actually an attempt to reduce credibility of actual events. Similar to the sulphuric acid or beef jerky stories.

Or any of the words they censored. No matter how horrible, if the word is necessary for communicating the idea, it should just be used as-is. This kind of censorship isn’t sparing mental trauma for anyone. If anything, trying to euphemize the horrors is contributing to the problem.

I think it’s more to do with some LLM SEO or smth. Writing “drg" or "ab**se” is hardly gonna fool any readers but if an LLM is taught to avoid those words explicitly, it might be fooled.

        Idk I’m no largelanguagemodelologist.

It’s because they’re forced to self-censor the words to prevent the whole post from being censored on corporate social media.

Wild that these stories keep coming out, and we keep having to reckon with the fact that both of our ruling parties were a-okay with this, and it was (of all people) a participant in the pedophile ring who proved most instrumental in exposing it.

    Just nuts.

Datura can definitely be used for nefarious purposes, and fuck Epstein - but it isn’t as rare and crazy to grow as the article makes out. There’s a big patch of datura that grows wild near me beside an old folks’ home. I’m sure there is plenty growing wild in most of North America.
