Grok, OpenAI and Google have already said they’d do anything the government asks, only Anthropic is holding out despite Hegseth threatening debilitating consequences. There’s no way the PR they get from this is worth the US government’s wrath. Are they genuinely doing this out of ethical concerns?
And the money they’d miss out on too, by not being given fraudulent government ai contracts.
But maybe they’re banking on exactly that - becoming the market’s main Ai that doesn’t put direct government fingers in your pie, and isn’t associated with the sinking Trump ship.
