Translation from Simplified American to English: Gas prices are going to skyrocket in near future and will remain historically high.

The Dow! The Dow is above 40 thousands, why are you talking about fuel prices?!

(And I’m expecting to make it 30 the next time I post this…)

We don’t listen to that dodo bird. We don’t listen to anything coming out of the fight house of pedophiles. We were hoping that somebody intervenes from uruguay with that regime change.

I mean hypothetically successful regime change in Iran (and therefore control over their oil supply) would in theory increase oil prices for China and decrease them for everyone else. The issue is that successful regime change isn’t going to happen in Iran.

Hypothetically, if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle. Back in reality though - they have no plan to control the strait, or the oil, or even concepts of how they’ll reconcile for what they’ve done. No idea where that leaves the situation, but it sure isn’t lower gas prices on any timeline.

Over what time frame? 100 Years?

What scenario? Dystopian? I can see gas prices hit 0 if all economic activity is reduced to barter.

I have to give credit to the Americans. When they focus on just living for the moment, they really yolo.

I wish I owned an EV, but at least we are able to have a small efficient sedan as our main vehicle. I do always get a hit of shadenfreude when the goldfish memory brigade again gets hit with a gas price spike. Happens like clockwork every time. Gas prices are low for awhile. The goldfish brigade assumes that’s how things will always be and buys $60k giant clown cars to drive around in. Then they’re left with their pants down when the inevitable happens and gas prices soar during a crisis. Meanwhile my partner and I are over here, happily driving our two small efficient vehicles, vehicles with a combined value less than a tenth of our annual income.

I can’t think of a better example of “a fool and his money are soon parted” than the fools who convince themselves they need a giant SUV or penis-extending pickup truck.
