I’m so fucking happy I’ve managed to train the youtube algorithm to almost exclusively recommend music videos or effects pedal “reviews” where people make spaceship noises with their guitars lmao
That’s the thing though, the shit that gets arbitrarily shoved into your search results seems to be unaffected by Youtube’s general algorithm and there’s no way to get rid of them
I suppose it might be because the account I’m using is like 15 years old at this point? Over time I’ve beaten the algo into submission lol
There was one point a year or two ago when Youtube was always interrupting my search results with shorts featuring gore or fucked up medical shit like harlequin ichthyosis. It made searching for anything so unpleasant I had to install some script to remove shorts entirely

Normally I search in DuckDuckgo anymore if I need something specific from YouTube.
It honestly sucks. They even removed the arrow to skip to the next video within the last few weeks.
