The move comes as part of Britain's response to the Iran war, with the conflict triggering the largest supply disruption in the history of the oil market.

    *England

And kind of misleading. This legislation has been coming for almost a decade, the fact it’d finally be made law was announced last year, and it’ll take a couple years to come into force. It really isn’t a “response to the Iran war”.

Yess this is the outcome I was hoping would happen for renewables adaptation.

Make oil less available and more expensive and suddenly governments start thinking that wind and solar aren’t so bad after all

inb4 Trump destroys the moon on false pretenses (maybe tries to cozy up to the DBZ fanbase and say it’s to protect us from the saiyans or something) to make tidal power unfeasible, and inb4 he pushes for a giant umbrella over the earth to stop solar power, claiming it’s because the sun is exporting skin cancer and solar flares, and some rays, he assumes, are good rays

This is a spit in the ocean. How about a proper nationalised effort to build some centralised renewables/green energy.
