The Chinese Defense Minister in a letter to the Trump administration and the US Navy:

“Our ships are moving in and out of the waters of the Strait of Hormuz. We have trade and energy agreements with Iran. We will respect and abide by these agreements, and we expect others not to interfere in our affairs. Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz, which is open to us.”

Even though it is being reported everywhere in resistance accounts, I still haven’t found the Original source from the Chinese Defense Minister. For the moment, I will leave in strikethrough until I find the Defense Minister original source from China’s media. For me, this sounds like the resistance channels all fell prey for a fake news.

Edit 1. At the moment, we have the following: https://english.www.gov.cn/policies/latestreleases/202604/13/content_WS69dcc947c6d00ca5f9a0a5b9.html

According to the rules, such extraterritorial jurisdiction measures refer to actions taken by a foreign country that violate international law and the basic norms governing international relations and that harm China’s sovereignty, security and development interests, or the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and organizations.

The rules also stipulate that the Chinese government has the authority to take countermeasures in response to such actions.

They also state that the Chinese government has the authority to exercise extraterritorial jurisdiction over relevant conduct if a sufficient nexus exists.

The regulations establish a system of a malicious entity list targeting foreign organizations and individuals that promote or participate in the implementation of a foreign state’s unlawful extraterritorial jurisdiction measures.

I hope this is something the PRC said, and I cannot rule it out, but that is a little more confrentational than the PRC tends to act. If this is what happened it is a big deal

It’s absolutely fake. This is so outlandishly outside of what China would do. The US would have to actual board and take a Chinese ship for them to even consider anything more then a strongly worded letter.

The moment I saw it, I tried looking for the source as well but nothing online. Guess it’s fake, but for a moment, I thought a major escalation was coming
