    See and this is my problem with Dwarves. Millions of bees and not a single one mining too deep and too greedily.

    This is basically the first time I’ve heard of mining bees and it’s such a funny picture in my head of a bee in a miner’s uniform and hat with a tiny pickaxe.

      european honeybees get all the love and attention as pollinators in America (where they’re invasive) and it’s kind of infuriating. ecological imperialism go brrrr I guess.

      there’s a beautiful diversity of bees in the americas and they don’t deserve to be overlooked in this way! bees aren’t even the only pollinators! There are butterflies, moths, hummingbirds, bats, flies, beetles! probably something I forgot too! yells-at-cloud

    I have a “spooky ideas” file where I keep writing snippets and story concepts that I haven’t developed yet. One of them is “the graveyard bees” which sure sounds spooky to me. And here we have some more free material for the file! Practically write themselves sometimes!
