According to the AP story, you have to renew in-person at the State Department’s DC office to get it. Online people still get the non-fash design.

So like the currency idea i guess. I won’t be accepting any currency with him on it. If a living person can’t be on the currency for 5 years after they died, any before that wouldn’t be legal currency. Not sure the law regarding the passport, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are similar laws.
