Google Chrome is looking to finish off the various bypasses that help uBlock Origin and other such MV2 extensions to keep functioning. Edge and Opera could soon follow too.

Firefox FTW. The mobile version isn’t flawless (it feels memory-leaky, in that it gets worse the longer you’re browsing, and it’s not great on lower-end phones) but it’s worth it for mobile adblock.

      memory-leaky

The desktop version assuredly is. I finally had to restart my machine because firefox had piled up 70gb of ram.

You may want to check about:performance next time. I’ve had hundreds of tabs open for months before without an issue. I’d wager you’ve got a broken addon.

I haven’t tested MV3 ad blockers on Chrome because it was easier to just switch to Firefox back when Chrome first made MV2 disabled by default.

Out of curiosity, can you give an example of a search that ddg failed at and Google succeeded?

          Random test:

          DDG:

          https://noai.duckduckgo.com/?q="The+Only+Way+Out+Is+Down"+"marco+del+horno"&noai=1&ia=web

          3 results… Total…

          Qwant:

          https://www.qwant.com/?q="The+Only+Way+Out+Is+Down"+"marco+del+horno"&t=web

5 results, in addition videos and pictures.

          Google:

          https://www.google.com/search?q="The+Only+Way+Out+Is+Down"+"marco+del+horno"&udm=14

4 PAGES, in addition to videos, pictures etc.

Well…. You’re looking for a title. It shows at the top of both. Both succeed. You can hit videos and get videos on both. You can hit images and get images. I see nearly the same results on both.

DuckDuckGo.com. They also have a very good mobile browser. The desktop browser is a little meh compared to the vast competition.
