Alt text: LinkedIn post comparing the firing of Sam Altman from OpenAI to the firing of Steve Jobs from Apple
I will never forget the day when some rich white kid moved from playing at business in one building to playing at business in a different building.
I’m a software developer but I can’t say either of those events have had any impact at all on my life.
Also sorry I never look at LinkedIn thankfully, but it’s fun to see these :)
It’s okay, remember that I am toiling away in that godforsaken place so you don’t have to 👍
Thank you for your service🫡
So a good thing?
It was apparent at the time that Steve Jobs was not a good executive nor understood the computer market at the time. Jobs’s vision ended up aligning better with the market when he went back, but it didn’t fit during the 80’s.
Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of how Sam Altman, in his now capacity as a researcher for Microsoft will probably not produce anything half as innovative as NeXT (even if just for the fact that their computers were used to make Doom)
Eh, you can put Doom on anything now.
Even when he went back, his greatest innovation was bringing elite projection to the computing world.
I would love if you all posted stuff here as well! I’m sure there’s no lack of content on LinkedIn
