Some readers might look at this headline and think there’s something off about it. And I’ll grant you that. There are several ways music can be played: to, for, not at all. Sometimes though, the only way to describe the playing of music is “at.”

One of Trump’s many vindictive “surges” targeting cities and states run by Democratic party members occurred in Washington DC. Not content to flood the streets with tons of federal officers, the administration decided these forces needed backup from the National Guard. Of course, Trump claimed the crime problem in DC was so bad it could only be dealt with by a surge that blended choice bits from “police state” and “martial law” into an unpalatable whole.

DC residents were less than thrilled. One resident — Sam O’Hara — made his displeasure known by doing the thing in the headline: playing music at National Guard troops.

Agreed. The fascist executive branch was successfully thwarted by the judicial branch thanks to the freedom of speech, the rule of law, and the system of checks and balances.

I wonder what all those Americans think of this, who constantly scream “Europe [yes, the Country™] has no freedom of speech because they arrest you for a social media post [that directly called for violence against other people]”

I would have played something ominous like this Song of Saya OST or at least this one. I know, should be more focused on the arrest, but good music is always important.

Though, it would be a waste of an amazing soundtrack to tie to the creeps, I wouldn’t wanna tie the Code Lyoko Xana theme to them because Xana is a real threat compared ti a bunch of people who will roll over to whoever is in charge.

Imagine being so fragile, you arrest someone for (not even loudly) playing music.

I hope the national guard members and officers involved end up rethinking their life choices, morality, and ethics.

Undisclosed “significant amount.” Clearly, permission to resume said musical activities.
