The entire PSL connection to China is that one of their major donors is Neville Roy Singham, a very wealthy American IT business guy in China who has business contracts with the Chinese government. You can even see this on the diagram on the left, he’s the bald guy in one of those red bubbles. He’s also a major donor for Code Pink, which his wife co-founded. He seems extremely class conscious, but unlike most of his class, he has dedicated much of his life and fortune trying to become the type of bourgeoisie who aren’t put in front of the wall. Guess we’ll see how well that works out for him.
This kind of liberal conspiracy weaving never made sense to me. It’s like Russiagate. Liberals were trying to tell me for years that Americans wouldn’t actually be racist hogs of their own volition, rather, a select group of Russian spies used internet ads to trick Americans into liking Donald Trump. So what’s the angle here exactly? China is sending money to American communists to trick Americans into disliking AI? Yeah that would never happen naturally, it’s simply foreign wizards casting hexes on fragile American psyches.
They typically just say “Well China is only using this to divide and weaken america” as if the solution isn’t to fix the issue instead of ignore it.
They did the same thing during the Cold War when the USSR would have propaganda about how racist the US is.

I wish the PSL was based enough to pull something like this off.
Yesterday the PSL branches in North Carolina launched a campaign to ban data centers across the state (nodatacentersnc.com, go sign the petition). This comes after recent wins in the form of one year moratoriums on data centers in multiple rural communities driven entirely by the PSL. The PSL is at the front of this struggle, at least in North Carolina and there is real optimism that this campaign can result in victory. So instead of saying doomerist things about subjects you are under-informed in, go out and organize, or at least stop saying things that undermine those doing the work.

What is it that you think PSL is doing, then? I mean, this entire post is just taking various branches’ own public communications and pretending like they’ve unearthed some grand conspiracy.
This is literally full of examples of the party stopping data centers all over the country.
