I had to check. Pete’s Place is still in business and hasn’t rebranded. While you’re in the area get a popcorn bucket full of spaghetti at the original By the Bucket. Where they sell spaghetti by the bucket. Magical place, Payson is.

There’s two Gila County fairs. Payson is still salty about not being the county seat 100 years later so they have their own fair you can’t enter anything in if you’ve already entered it in the Globe county fair. Globe got the county seat. Globe doesn’t give a shit if you entered your stuff in the Payson fair. They know they won their little fuckass nowhere pissing match. They’ll be riding that high until the mines close and it gets quietly returned to the San Carlos Apache.

If you’ve ever been through Globe, you’ll let them have that little victory. Nothing good ever came from Globe.

By The Bucket started as a spaghetti place in Payson targeting flatlanders going up to the high country looking for something cheap, easy, and inoffensive to bring up to the cabin. They expanded into the AZ high country as well as Phoenix, Tucson, and SLC, and have apparently since fragmented like a Nepalese Maoist tendency. I want to know the Mormon machinations that happened. Why is there a Tucson-Show Low splinter spaghetti-in-a-popcorn-bucket operation going by a different name? Did the SLC By The Bucket close, or has it gone underground like some kind of Mormon pasta-slinging Tupamaros? I need to know.

It just dawned on me that Charlie Kirk has almost certainly done coke off the toilet seat in the bathroom at Pete’s Place. He lived in Scottsdale. He absolutely would have gone to the Star Valley strip club at least once. Or maybe he tried to get in with a five gallon bucket of loose spaghetti (from the original By The Bucket) in hand and got turned away for being belligerent. Pete’s Place runs a tight ship.

If I had any connections in the region still I would follow up on this. I think the rabbit hole goes deeper…

Pete’s Place has a 4.9 star rating on Google Maps and is by all accounts one of the better strip clubs in Arizona.

It used to be a steakhouse and Pete never took the cow off the sign out front. It’s been a community institution for like 20 years now.

          Oh wow it’s real boys

What’s extra great is across the street from a church and there’s a feed store behind it. I guess we’re gonna have to do an official HexBear road trip.

A strip club across the street from a church… doesn’t get any more American than that! Unless it’s next to a gun store/“hunting supply” place, I guess.

If anywhere was going to be the Charlie Kirk memorial strip club, it’d be in Gila County. Whoever made this knew what they were doing.

Go up the Rim east on 260 to Show Low and you can visit the Trump Store. Maybe you run into George Takei. Steal some shit from the summer houses there, the cops don’t even bother responding to calls. If you make the drive in the winter there will be flatlanders playing in plow wash like they’ve never seen snow before (good chance they haven’t).

Keep going and you hit Springerville, where there’s a combination gun store and pharmacy with a really nice liquor aisle. Settler-occupied northeastern Arizona is one of the strangest places on earth. o7

im not a strip club guy, but i would try to find a couple of guys i trust to go with me to check that place out.

definitely the sort of place where you back into the parking place in case you need a quick getaway.

If you try to sell vegan food in Star Valley they are running your woke Antifa flatlander ass all the way back to Tucson. Where all the vegans live. You could sell normal beef as vegan beef and there would be a pitchfork wielding mob outside your door so fast.

I think there’s a breakfast place in Payson that has vegan options. By The Bucket is vegan as long as you don’t get meatballs (they’re good but they’re small and they cost $1.50/each, that’s how they get you).

I used to live in a place, long time ago, where there was a very small gentlemen’s club, where the owners girlfriend was a dancer there. She had an artificial leg and this was well before C-legs, and all the high tech shit we have now.

I was too young to go in the place but it was common knowledge Butch’s girlfriend Heather worked there weekends and she was missing her left leg above the knee.

I’m still not sure how to feel about it, to be honest.

Being disabled doesn’t make you not a sexual being. If she wasn’t coerced or exploited (Conditions that apply to any other worker, although of course sex workers are more likely to be exploited and coerced) then there really isn’t a problem with an amputee being a stripper.
