I don’t even know, if anybody is still active here, but I thought I might share anyway. I released my first demo with my band last month. Maybe you want to give it a listen. It’s also on tidal, bandcamp, YouTube and apple music, if that suits you better.

So yeah… They use the same system as spotify/tidal. Artists need a label or something like distrokid to publish their music. We’re only on Spotify/tidal/apple music because we published our demo through a local punk fanzine (bierschinken), so we only get what they usually use. Thanks for the input though, we’ll definitely consider it, if this ever gets large enough to get a label or something.

Oh, didn’t know they require a label. Kinda sad, since it cuts out all the indie artists.
        Well, there’s bandcamp.

Yeah technically you could pay distrokid or some other platform to get it distributed. We decided we’d rather use bakraufarfita records, because it makes it possible to be on larger music platforms and they donate everything they make. And yes, also Bandcamp

First time I even heard about it, tbh. Will look into it though!
