Rolling Stone has quite an article: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/henry-kissinger-war-criminal-dead-1234804748/
“Henry Kissinger, War Criminal Beloved by America’s Ruling Class, Finally Dies” (It’s long too, they’ve been sitting on this one for a while)
For me it’s bittersweet feelings. I would have rather at this point that he lived another 20 years and saw the world he built crumble entirely. He was also out of power and there are many like him much younger still in power. Where is the Blinken, Pompeo, Nuland, etc watch for their death for their complicity in crimes against humanity? Smaller in total deaths but still in the hundreds of thousands.
His death will mark my words be a ritual cleansing for western leftists and anti-war liberals, they will point to it and declare the evil has gone, it has died, America was bad but with his death that chapter closes and now we’re good supporting wholesome 100 totally-not-Nazis in Ukraine among many other dubious movements.
I hope he still had enough marbles rolling around up there by the end to recognize that the empire he helped build on a tower of blood and skulls couldn’t even keep their hard-won hegemony together for 25 years before falling off the rails. This was supposed to be the American Century, that was what it was all for- all the wars and barbarity our young nation eagerly embraced- so we could crack open the final peoples who still resisted Liberal Capitalism. The end of history some said!
Instead we immediately fell for all the same classic blunders of other empires we supposedly learned so much from: decades long land war in Asia ending in humiliating failure, getting entangled with another fucking Zionist war in the middle east, neglecting our domestic population in favor of more imperialism so much that it creates lasting and rapidly deteriorating social and political instability. We created so much resentment there is now a worldwide, self-conscious, anti-hegemonic collation aligning against us. It’s going to be a rough, hard fall for America in the future. If he’s such a smart statesman like his friends say, than Kissinger must have realized this, though I doubt he had any regrets regardless.
I think he probably would have blamed others. It hopefully upset him but I’m sure he thought it was the fault of others.
I agree, though I do not think there is any harm in celebrating the death of an objectively horrible person. As long as you don’t think that everything is peachy-keen and all that is left is rainbows and unicorns.
Sure there’s nothing wrong with it. As long as you don’t think you know it changes anything or especially changes the fact there are people just as vile as him currently in power, Nuland, Blinken, a few others. I think it’s unfortunate many who rightfully hate on Kissinger for crimes that are okay to admit will also deny more recent crimes (Ukraine for instance) and not see the modern Kissingers actually wielding power and destroying human lives as we type to each other and not hope and pine for their demise as they have for Kissinger.
Oh agreed again for sure, there’s plenty of people still around as bad as him. I don’t think we are in any disagreement at all.
I will say that since he was still meetings diplomatic figures he probably had some pull, so it remains a good thing he kicked out now because he was likely still actively doing harm.
There’s also a tiny chance some people might go “Huh, if this guy was that bad maybe some of these other politicians were too…”. I don’t hold all that much hope, but call me an optimist. They’re just as bad but the plus side (if you can characterize it as that) is they’re way dumber. It’s telling that towards the end of his life he was calling out the Biden admin for being reckless af.
I don’t have a habit of celebrating anybody’s death, not because I think that it’s tasteless, but because I simply don’t have the same level of hatred and energy in me for that anymore. So I feel the same way about militant anticommunists as I do about angry snakes: they’re simply more obstacles to overcome and that’s all.
That being said, I have to admit that the community’s happiness has rubbed off on me, and that has made my night better.
So this is how people in 1945 felt when they heard that Hitler died…
Imagine how euphoric it would be if we had heard he killed himself
Have we heard anything about the cause of death actually? Long and slow heart attack? Maybe choked on some amok trey?
Not afaik, but I’ve been mostly scrolling and liking posts on twitter making jokes about so shrug
“Once you’ve been to Cambodia, you’ll never stop wanting to beat Henry Kissinger to death with your bare hands. You will never again be able to open a newspaper and read about that treacherous, prevaricating, murderous scumbag sitting down for a nice chat with Charlie Rose or attending some black-tie affair for a new glossy magazine without choking. Witness what Henry did in Cambodia—the fruits of his genius for statesmanship—and you will never understand why he’s not sitting in the dock at The Hague next to Milošević. While Henry continues to nibble nori rolls and remaki at A-list parties, Cambodia, the neutral nation he secretly and illegally bombed, invaded, undermined, and then threw to the dogs, is still trying to raise itself up on its one remaining leg.”
SMOKIN THAT KISSENGER PACK
Damn
Alexa play It Was A Good Day by Ice Cube
I always have kept a few days off on hand for just this sort of emergency.
Calling off tomorrow and having a long weekend celebration. Cracking open a bottle of the good stuff.
To be totally realistic am under no delusions that this fixes much of anything, but allow me these few days just to enjoy some good news. Also considering he was still making trips to meet with heads of state, he was exerting some kind of influence that we should be thankful is now gone.
Another crackkka down.
And another one bites the dust. Well, as they say, “rest in piss, you won’t be missed”.

PIN THIS SHIT IMMEDIATELY THE DEMON IS FINALLY DEAD
New gender neutral washroom just dropped
I posted this in a friend chat, and said Good riddance, took out the trash, only umanitarian action he ever did (him dying). And my friends said I shouldn’t be so extreme 'cause he also did good things (don’t know what those are and they didn’t tell me). Then they said something about taking extreme things and nuancing them.
I’m realising these people are the worst sort of down the middle soc-dems in their politics. They literally said something about pulling it “more to the middle”.
How you choose to respond to your friend is entirely up to you, but take comfort in the fact that no matter what your response is Henry Kissinger will never hear it, because he is dead and nothing they say can make him live again, unless it is saying his name three times while gazing into a bathroom mirror.
You could pretend to be a Trotzkyist so that meeting these right-deviationists in the middle means upholding the party line
I now have a fight with one of them because he told me he expects the same remarks from me regarding Stalin. I told him I that would never hapoen because Stalin actually did good for a lot of people.
Find a new crowd. They almost certainly believe worse shit and aren’t telling you.
It’s not worth the mental health jumpscare when it eventually comes out.
