I promise I’m no tankie but this line in reference to McDonalds is cursed

If you don’t support Western freedom like having a McDonalds then you’re a tankie, that’s the rule. You’ll be receiving your monthly Stalin painting soon, the cadre expects a daily kiss on it before you mail it back at the start of the month, so I recommend you invest in “Commie red” lipstick now to be sure it’s obvious!

Only in America where there’s an exclusive service contract that forces franchisees to use a very expensive third party to fix the machines. The machines throw error codes that can only be cleared by a service visit for something that should be as simple as a clean and reset. It incentivizes machines that fail often and disincentivizes the franchisee from actually keeping the machine running.

I think that’s an America only thing. Sure I’m not the most loyal McCostumer (like I’m only go there if I’m out of other options) but I’ve never seen one out of service here in Europe. On the other hand I’ve heard that McDonald’s coke is better in the USA, while this side of the pond is the most watered down, flat, ass-tasting liquid one can buy legally.

There’s a servicing contract thing that happens with them here, so they’re probably engineered to break down often. Walk into a modern factory anywhere in this country and tell me their machines break down like that. It’s absurd.

It’s rather that the machines give generic errors with no useful info, requiring calling for service. And if the minimum wage workers don’t follow the instructions correctly for cleaning it will fail, but won’t give an error until the end of the process hours later.

They’re not actually broken, it’s just a cleaning process that is easy to do wrong when you don’t care because you’re paid pennies.

The legend behind the Coke being better at McDonald’s is supposedly the ratio of syrup to carbonated water is just a hair off, it’s stored cooler than mandated and the straws are (or at least used to be) wider than average straws to allow for bigger gulps.

Outside of America ice cream machines work. The rest of the world doesn’t do monopolies very well, so mcdolands can actually fix their machine when it’s broke, instead of waiting forever for an authorised fixer from one company. Also, people get a living wage working there, so they care a bit more.

The ability of people to have some shed of normalcy to preserve their psycho amid totally fucked up situation?

Recently russia just flies reactive shahed in circles around Kyiv so the alarms would play nonstop. So you don’t even go to shelters cause otherwise you’d have to live there 24/7. That, and half-empty shelves in the shops cause the storehouses are being targeted.

So, yeah, just order for some burger and coke is celebrated.

One of the most annoying things citizens can do in the enemy’s eyes, is continue to live their lives like the war isn’t happening. Of course, they don’t have much choice, because they still need food on the table, and the bills don’t fucking stop.

    Keep calm, and carry on.

I find it very curious how russia does some interesting things like that. One of the few places that invest heavily in sovereignty and makes resistance to us brands. A pity they kind of do that for the wrong reasons and are imperialist themselves

yeah it’s wild how they can despise the west… but also, want to be the west themselves? they despise capitalists… and have hollowed out their own country with crony capitalism… they’re a failed petrostate who are losing a war to a tiny neighbor, 1000-1600 dead every day, going on longer than WW1.

oh and they have the second largest pile of nuclear weapons in the world (or first, depending on whose numbers you trust)…

What’s interesting about this? MacDonald’s left after the fullscale invasion, and someone bought the assets to make a cheap kickoff.

It is not about sovereignty, they try to preserve Moscow as “rich and just like the West”, cause it’s the place foreigners visit.
