It could just be that CNN employed the only technician who still knows how to setup the press pool equipment.
The mechanics of the press pool are that there are five reporters one from each of the major media outlets. Each day one of them is assigned to follow the president around like Natalie Harp Because there’s not enough room everywhere, he goes for all five of them and their equipment. All of the audio is recorded by whoever that reporter is for the day. And all five major networks that are the pool have decided they’re no longer going to take part in what he is calling “the free press ban.”
This is most definitely a boycott. Because after years of his threats they finally figured out they are enabling him.

Is he actually experiencing the consequences of his actions for once? Between this and Carney walking out of the trade negotiation, could Trump’s apparent magical immunity from consequences finally be running out?
I’m thinking that even some of the faithful have realized that other than getting rid of the penny, he hasn’t delivered in a beneficial way, any policy. The reality distortion field is fading. The midterms are going to break it even further as Trump endorsements fail to bring seats.
