I did try to search for the answer before posting, but I’m not the best at that stuff. Sorry if there’s already an answer for this somewhere.
I like to have separate accounts for stuff. I like to have one where I can discuss movies, and then another one where I can talk about video games, music, and basically all my other interests. It feels better to compartmentalize them this way. I didn’t want to go ahead with the idea without checking first.
You should have more than one fedi account. For sure a mastodon or misskey, maybe a nodebb or bookwyrm, possibly Pixelfed or Vernissage, if you’re feeling spicy a wanderer or funkwhale – cut loose, try out a few services. If you wanna have multiple lemmy accounts, no-one’s gonna stop you but a lot of people that do run multiple are kinda lame and end up using them as sock puppets and to manipulate voting and stuff so don’t be surprised if folks are skeptical.
Depends on what “on here” is. The Fediverse in general? Yes, absolutely. Use as many accounts as you want for whatever reason. On Lemmy? Also yes. Your use case is absolutely valid.
I don’t know any instance that disallows multiple accounts for the same user. Just don’t create a bunch of sock puppet accounts …
