I tried to have my neighbor group chat be split into business and social, because I think both functions are important but are best kept separate. Some got mad at me for suggesting it and now it’s only business.

People suck.

fuck my neighbors.

they only reach out when they need dues for communal costs but conveniently forget who I am when there’s a community party.

during covid they emailed me because I hadn’t paid my dues yet, so I immediately paid because I’m a good boy like that.

two weeks later there was a smokehouse ribs food truck parked out front of my house handing food out to people walking up. I walk out there and ask what’s going on and if I could buy some food. the neighbor who organizes everything said I had to put my order in a week ago. Said they emailed the link to everyone as well as posted on facebook. looked through my emails and only saw the one asking for money. showed it to them. they smirked and said I probably got dropped off since the payment was late. so I told them, that’s fine, but you need to move the food truck from my house. since I’m not allowed to participate in the festivities it’s probably a good idea to allow someone else the privilege to have all these people walk through their yard. they did move, begrudgingly, to the next house over.

if it wasn’t for the school, I would have left this neighborhood already.

for the record I think I’m a good neighbor. I don’t complain to anyone but my wife. We keep to ourselves and are quiet. keep the house and property well kept, etc. I also pay my dues. conveniently they’re always late because they somehow always skip notifying me the first time. although I am nice, and my patience is endless, I am not a doormat.

so I let them tire themselves out playing their little game for whatever petty bullshit reason. now I make them chase me down for dues. two three emails later I tell them the check is in my mailbox and they can come pick it up anytime. and in the memo I always write “petty cash”.

where is the mod to ban frank for being off topic?
