President Donald Trump told voters to pretend he was on the ballot in this year’s midterm elections.

They did. And they resoundingly rejected both his policies and his Republican Party.

Democrats have captured full control of Congress, NBC News projects, with voters delivering a forceful repudiation of Trump’s agenda, coupled with a clear-cut message that Congress has not done enough to provide checks on his administration and needs to do more to address affordability and corruption.

We can now hold the line, and he won’t get two, new, young SCOTUS Justices. That’s not nothing, but don’t expect Universal Healthcare or an end to the executive orders.

In two years we should oust the “centrist” Dems, even the ones we like, and replace them with the “radical left” DSA candidates. I’ll vote to replace Melanie Stansbury if a viable DSA candidate rises to challenge her. Fear of “splitting the vote” be damned.

this is the way. the primaries are the elections. republicans at every level violated or were derelict in their duty to stop violations of the constitution. voting republican is 100% anti american since trump started violating it as a matter of executive policy. Conservatives need to boot the republican party and form a new one that goes back to progressive pre nixon conservatism.

I mean folks threw out bidens team when he did a lot to recover from trump one in one term. heck obama barely leveled the blame after bush jr and they went to trump. we need to gain some altitude before being stupid again.

Trump immediately throws the party under the bus and doubles down that he is the best ever. At least nixon seemed to care about his party. Republicans will likely respond with more trump hole licking. Thats what we see with darren bailey and the illinois republicans. doubled down. there is no level of loss that would get us to change. we will only just abandon more of our historical principles for a weak strong man type.

Yes, they can impeach (put Trump on trial) but they cannot remove him from office. They would need a supermajority of the Senate for that. Trump has already been impeached twice.

The only threat the Democrats have is to make the impeachment trial a public affair and present evidence of Trump’s wrongdoing. They cannot force him to testify under oath due to the Fifth Amendment. It will not do much good since Trump is not allowed to run for reelection.

the republicans have been dealt a massive loss and trump is reacting by throwing them under the bus. They have a massive deficit of good will with the people. There is a small chance they might actually vote to remove him from office and let him know. this is what happened with nixon. They let him know and he resigned to avoid being the first ever president to be removed from office.

You’re right, but god what I wouldn’t give for a good-faith constitutional convention. Trump has proved that you can’t do this bizarre dance we do in America where the constitution is vague and rickety and relies on jurisprudence, legislation, and unwritten norms, but simultaneously treats the governing documents as holy writ.

Honestly the jump to psyop just comes across someone too out of touch with reality to understand the fuck people are.

Like mother fucker, what do you think is more likely. Lazy, depressed, and self-defeating people being tired and dooming? Or a coordinated psyop across the entire internet that lines up perfectly with the exact same shit people have been saying, doing and dooming about since the 1900s.

Like get out of your house and talk to some normal people, you will realize this isn’t a psyop. People are ACTUALLY just that tired or stupid.

That said there is obviously bots going around trying to influence things. But they are more just pushing people in directions they already lay.

What you seem to fail to understand is that not only are psyops real, people doing it for other reasons are often also victims of a psyop. Either way, they may as well all be a psyop, they’re all spreading horrifically terrible information that is hard to believe anyone came up with on their own.

And they said, “the corporate Dems share the same donors as MAGA”

Neither of those has been disproven and we will quickly see how constrained they are and how no one can be held accountable. That is what people have been saying and that is not a psyop. It is 40 years of data

Allowing him to taint this country and the office for another two years of more illegal and immoral corruption? Do you think they are going to stop Kushner? The cryptobribes? The secret Russia trips? Elon sabotaging Ukraine? Him selling secrets? Him and all of his cronies destroying the Epstein files? All of the missing oil and money from Venezuela? Assassinating an ICC Investigator that was looking into his WARCRIMES?

Every single person who has been angry, upset, scared, and frustrated with the past two years needs to be up their representative’s ass TOMORROW to tell them to put these fucking fascists in prison and burn anyone who stood with them. We cannot let the Democrats try to have things go back to the status quo.

The GOP and big business has proven they will fucking grind us to dust if it means they can make more money. Every single sack of shit lining up behind Trump’s fascist regime needs to be held accountable. Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, Greg Bovino, Markwayne Mullin, and Pete Hegseth need to be in fucking prison. Kash Patel needs to be in front of a committee every fucking day for his bullshit.

Elon Musk’s companies need to be nationalized or stripped of all their govt contracts. That motherfucker needs to be deported. Meta, Google, and Amazon need to be regulated.

I’m generally addressing those with incumbent Dem representatives who have sat on their hands the past two years.

Some of the new incoming reps might have contact forms on their campaign sites.

My point is there needs to be continuous pressure and not complacency from the public.

It is a great victory, but I feel it is gonna be a hard two years. I hope dem can end blantant corruption by Trump, which is very doable, but they will have a hard time fixing all the shit show that is going on, from AI bubble to oil prices.

If people don’t see legitimate economical improvements (which is unlikely given the current global situation) the next president election likely will not be as clear cut as this one.

Disclaimer: I am not suggesting other issues are less important than economics, but we have seen time and time again: voters care more about gas price up 50 cents than elementary schools being bombed.
