So, I’d guess that the show side was done by Henckels and the back side was etched by someone else. Stainless was invented in the very early 20th century (1913). My father (1912) told me what a big deal it was when stainless became available in items used by the general public. I think this was late '20s, early '30s. A Friodur razor made in that era would, in fact, be a very big deal. Very cool razor!!! I’ll be riding to Friodom with my trusty 14. I still have no clue what soap I’ll use.

The Extra Specialstål absolutely never disappoints. It is always extra special.

Aranceto is orangey goodness. It is certainly an all-season scent but its freshness and lightness combats the humidity of summer here in the mid-Atlantic. And, as a straight shaver, I’ve become a huge fan of Wholly Kaw’s soap bases.

The Socialite was a perfect choice to combat the heat wave we’re having. The morning was actually quite pleasant at zero dark thirty and as I type this in the early evening, there’s a breeze that is keeping things quite tolerable … so long as you don’t move very much.

This razor belongs to u/Impressive_Donut114 and this was a test shave. I only have one, 4/8 razor myself, a Fredrick Reynolds, and I used it yesterday. The edge on that razor is excellent. Today’s shave with the 4/8 Hartford was every bit as good as yesterday’s but it was a little closer and a little more comfortable. A very successful shave.

I doubt I would be a fan of Gauguin, the person, but I like his art and I like the cover art on the soap tub. I don’t know enough to know whether I like hemp seed oil or not. Chances are, I wouldn’t know it was there unless you told me :)

If you enjoy a hot very humid sauna, then the mid-Atlantic states are a great place to be. There are worse areas, but it is only a matter of degree. So, not a dry heat. Anyway, even though it is a tobacco-related scent, Shire is perfect for this. That’s totally counterintuitive, but it is.

No, but it has an interesting scent description.

A fragrance that combines the freshness of a rain that has now stopped with the earthiness of a primitive soil.

Cool! Nothing like a woodland setting. Here in the mid-Atlantic, where it’s 96°F and (what feels like) 96% humidity, I’ve been doing laps on the trail between my easy chair and my refrigerator.
