Every time people are being nostalgic about “early indies games” or somesuch, I get depressed. Like, that was supposed to be a revolution in video gaming, Mario with worse graphics and an extra gimmick?

Tbh I liked Meat Boy and Castle Crashers. Spelunky was pretty great too! Braid and the other “artsy” one from around that time- it had the shadow-y looking graphics, I can’t remember the name right now- were both extremely overrated (and not very good in this poster’s opinion)

Aquaria also ruled, and that game is now under GPL which is super cool.

Limbo, that was it. Yeah I didn’t like that one either. Fez is another very good one. I know Phil Fish was kind of a tool but honestly I think a lot of his opinions on games and Gamers™️ (sans the weirdly racist anti-Japanese shit) were basically correct. Genuinely hope Fez 2 never happens; he’s right, gamers don’t deserve it.
