      Haha, your comment is taken as example by a poster with many upvotes to why it is good to not federate with us. Since it shows people obvious dunking (so people being uncivil) aren’t allowed liberal rights of the marketplace of ideas. They feel it is unfair to label them “full of pedos” (for taking to long to ban the stuff, unfair to be labeled transphobes (though there is still plenty to be found on the site, unless hexbear), unfair to be labeled being more friendly to fascists than socialists.

      Funny that the unfair labeling of hexbear’s userbase doesn’t seem to be as unfair.

        If they don’t want to be labelled as “full of pedos” then they shouldn’t be federated with instances serving pedo content while defederating with instances like ours.

        They’ve made their bed, they can lie in it. They think a bunch of socialists are worse than pedos and nazis. They can have a taste of what that means in terms of reputation when thousands and thousands of people repeat it everywhere.

    It’s a crappy announcement. I understand where that admin is coming from, I understand why it seems reasonable to block politically-specific communities (well, if they weren’t explicitly ‘for everyone’). But it’s telling that even their own users are saying ‘that’s dumb’. Not to mention the internal contradictions.

It was conceived by Marx based on the Machiavellian quote “The ends justify the means.” and was laid out in the Communist Manifesto. It is a militant process in which to implement SOCIALISM by force. I am guessing you are a fan of how things worked out in China?

        Did Machiavelli say the ends justify the means? He spent a lot of pages talking about Virtu in his art of war book. The Prince is kind of it’s own thing and I don’t think we’ll ever have broad agreement on whether it’s supposed to be read straight or read as satire.

    Relationship ended with lemmyworld. I think Lemm.ee should be the star of the show, it has significantly more potential if turned into the largest instance and from what I can tell the admin is significantly more chill. I thought this about Ruud though and did not believe lemmyworld would defed us before grad so my judgement is pigpoop

    What does it take to get dessalines to put lemm.ee at the top of join-lemmy ?

        Never underestimate liberals’ ability to throw an absolute fit when attacked from the left. They are desperate to think of themselves as, “as progressive as it gets” and will actively seek out any excuse, including making things up, for why the person telling them capitalism is bad is actually a very problematic individual/organization and are basically the same as Nazis if you really (don’t) think about it.

        Seen this play out so many times irl, lol. You can’t do shit with liberals because once you oppose something they identify with (e.g. a war crimes supporting politician) they will take it very personally.
