What a ridiculous statement from a silly man. There can be no “”“”“”“”““peace””“”“”“”“” summit without Russia.
China literally stated that it’s only requirement for peace talks is if Russia is also there because how can you broker peace when one of the parties involved is not present? You can’t.
“We have brokered a peace agreement! Ukraine will get all Russian territory west of Siberia and two trillion dollars in reparations. Russia gets to rename themselves Mordor!”

I may be incorrect, but I cannot think of a historical peace brokered between two parties without both of them present. Maybe in the case of an unconditional surrender?
After this tantrum I have to believe that the version of peace that was to be discussed at the summit was just bombing Russia more, forcing them to submit. That’s a type of “peace” China won’t get behind.
Zelensky is trying his hardest to involve China in this. I don’t think he realizes that they wouldn’t use kid gloves to deal with him.
Yeah, I remembered him begging Xi to be at the peace talks (probably because he knows China is an all star at diplomacy) but because China has very realistic and tangible terms for them being there to broker peace suddenly China is under Putin’s thumb. Like, I’m sorry China doesn’t want to waste time on a “peace summit” that won’t even invite the other party. They know if Russia isn’t there then there is no point.
