Look at this fucker. I definitely spent waaaaaay too much money but I am now full in with an aluminum profile rig, a set of nice ass pedals with haptics, a 1992 accord seat i yoinked in a junkyard, and a used Accuforce V2 I snagged off some forums lol.

It feels fuckin crazy moving up from a 6 year old g29.

I am the racecar master.

Any other drivers here?

Amusingly I also had one of these

Still have it somewhere. Very plastic but could probably be used as nice inspiration on building a more solid metal one. Could be done if you got the parts machined. Sim race guys are fucking lunatics making shit, I am sure there is an option for mech stuff if you go hard enough

maaaaan that thing is so cool. I remember when I was a kid saving up to buy one and then finding out that my local Gamestop didn’t have one and never did and being so disappointed.

My buddy had it in his closet and I offered 50 bucks for it cause I thought it was cool lol. Used it twice I think. If I remember it was insanely clunky, but still a pretty cool piece!

Hell yeah! I just got the software license today for sim commander. Put like 5 minutes in doing laps on it. Unbelievable improvement from running raw iracing ffb lol. I’m incredibly sad I’m at work for another 3 hours till I get to go tinker with it. It blew me away how much better it was with the base cloud profiles it loaded in. Also what the fuck I did not know it had a trueforce like function with engine RPMs, kinda rules.

I have a T150 and a foldable stand in my closet (not a huge amount of room which is why I wanted a setup I can store easily). I was just sitting down to play one day and received an out of hours “emergency” call where my boss demanded something be fixed (he had a week to review it and didn’t do it until the last minute). I was up until 3 fixing it ajd haven’t touched my racing wheel for like a year and a half since kitty-birthday-sad

I should take it out again

Not sure what kind of driving you were into, but if you haven’t done iRacing, I highly suggest it. Yes, it is VERY expensive if you get into it, but there is plenty to do with just a subscription.

It’s the cleanest racing around and it’s license system kind of adds a bit of purpose.

A car is 12 bux and a track is 15, and that’s on top of a 12 dollar a month subscription, but the sub is really for stewardship. You can literally report people for intentionally wrecking/chat abuse and they will get banned lol.

I popped on VR and subbed again when I was still on my g29 and it just blew me away how fun close battles were in the miata.

Needs a VR headset. For me its pretty much mandatory, in 2d even with hundreds of hours racing i still crash into walls and misjudge corners and with VR that problem just disappears and I suddenly just start cornering perfectly.

Currently playing lots of GT7 and Dirt Rally. Dirt Rally is my comfort game, when I play I enter a trance and forget the universe exists. Can’t wait for the racenet servers to be shut off rendering it unplayable!!!

I just got into dirt 2 last week and I’ve already clocked 25 hours! I play with my quest pro with a rig pretty close to this, but I don’t have a screen. Tho I kinda want to set one up just to make it easier to have my friends try it out.

I actually do race in VR on a reverb g2, the screen is there just in case for fidgeting with setting or whatever. In this case I was Watching the fights while mounting the wheel lol. It’s on an arm so I swing it over to my desk when I’m not racing. Bout to also mount a 65" kinda busted but definitely viable TV to my wall to put live timings for WEC races on!

I actually have hundreds of hours in DR 2.0 on controller, as I don’t have a handbrake/sequential shifter yet so I don’t feel totally comfortable. Done a little bit of richard burns rally though and that shit is wild lol.

At least there’s EA WRC after dr2.0…too bad it runs like dogwater lol.

Wow that was bad. 2d it runs fine on ultra preset but in VR it chugs. Managed to run smoothly on medium preset but then the game looks cursed and lower fidelity than dirt rally 1.

Even on ultra the graphics just look weird. Granted it was rainy but it just looks wonky.

Might see if i can tweak it but first impressions aren’t great.

Edit: So i tried all three games just to compare, WRC is by far the worst presentation, it looks like the TAA doesnt actually render with depth so adds this weird shimmer in front of everything, game is blurry as hell. Dirt rally 1 and 2 look great in comparison idk wtf they did but it aint good. Played all settings on high, DLSS set to quality (doesnt look that different to off), foveated rendering set to 1. Just looks really bad

Well that’s disappointing. Thanks for the feedback. I don’t think I’ll be wasting my time with it yet. I’ll just keep playing dirt 2 and give them some time to work it out.

Nice! I’m more into flight sims than driving sims, but my “rig” is a HOTAS velcro’d onto a tray table so I’m jealous of anything nicer than that.

My first rig was 2 pieces of wood I drilled into my desk for my g29 and shifter lol.

Also hey I wish I had a hotas for star citizen or flight sim. Fun games I just zone out too hard while coasting from one place to another lol

Literally the best menu in all of racing games imo. Timeless.

I actually do run some modded richard burns rally as well, it’s just quite janky. Ea WRC is also pretty ok but kinda weird in vr
