There are a bunch of sicko neoliberals and insufferable redditors there, yes, but there are also some normal libs and a few comrades, and it seems like a good way to encourage lemmy generally to re-embrace leftism.
I’ve been using an alt to talk on there and it’s honestly not that bad. It’s a little bad, but not that bad. I think if we just try to patiently explain ourselves, we have a reasonable chance of reaching people and shifting the general political alignment.
Those of us who aren’t up to dealing with ghouls (I am frequently included in this group) can just stay at home here and that’s just fine.
Anyway, just an idea. I would appreciate feedback.
they preemptively defederated Hexbear before Hexbear could even federate
Preemptively as a last resort, of course.
🤦 can’t believe I left out the funniest part
when the US initiates the worldwide nuclear exchange of 2027 this will be the reasoning given verbatim
So, you’re not federated to them atm?
No lol, it would require a non-Hexbear account
Is .ml still federated to them? Maybe I could use my old account…
It is.
Nice!
Neither is lemmygrad
You’re right, my bad. Even then, I don’t think the backlash would be innocuous if too many users go overboard. Especially if for some reason .world admins end up having to intervene.
I think that’s fair, but I don’t think the blood could get much worse between .world and hexbear/the grad.
Not between them, but other servers might choose to defederate if word spreads (not that I think it would be likely, but it’s bad enough of a scenario to at least be careful).
Fair enough!
I’m not 100% sure what the federation situation is from the side, but we’ve never been able to access any of their comms or see their posters while on hexbear.net, I only see them if I click on the little federation icon to see a post on its native instance and that instance is federated with them.
We didn’t so much as glance at the cowards before they buckled
