Had a boss years ago here in the US that told me I had used up all of my PTO during a time of mourning and funeral preparation. My dad was dying/died during that time and the boss was telling me this because I had to take 2 weeks off to spend time with my dying father who was in Hospice with cancer, as well as arrange the funeral and care for my mom.
The empire can’t burn fast enough.
When my father was in a motorcycle accident in a different state, I was fully prepared to quit on the spot if they tried to tell me my absence “couldn’t be excused.” I had no savings, no prospects, and no plan, but I had a burning belief that family comes first.
Luckily my boss was an actual human, and wanted to help.
What makes you so sure whatever will follow it is going to be any better?
Guess we better not try then…
The fact is that while there is no guarantee, you can at lest push to something better. Don’t self-defeat so early
I’m not a fan of burning down the house to catch spiders approach. Equally slow, gradual, boring and tedious democratic change has the best track record in history, whereas even successful revolutions result in ordinary people suffering the most for many years until things improve, if they ever improve.
In other words: Organize and vote, don’t fantasize about who to put up against the wall in which order.
Can’t wait to be called a fascist for this comment too.
Nothing wrong with wanting change.

Shitting on company time is fine though.
Wow what jerks. Lost everything? Make sure to use your time off.
A friend of a friend of mine lives in Beirut and when Israel started bombing the city he got told “yes, it’s a shame your neighbourhood got bombed, but we hope you understand that we try to keep normal life going in these times so we are expecting you to come into the office tomorrow”
