Porn sites are not accessible in Texas as companies cite the onerous process and privacy issues associated with setting up age verification.

Stop advocating for the removal of our rights you fucking moron

If you have kids and you’re worried about what they’re exposed to, then do your goddamn job and be a parent instead of forcing the entire goddamn country to do that job for you. Pervert.

I’m not an advocate for this law actually. Don’t assume. I was looking at some potential upsides. I don’t want my history going to places it doesn’t need to, and I don’t want to use my I.d like most people to view these types of content.

My foccus also was on the legality for the sites, and for the user. Just because I even entertained a few potential benefits, which might never happen. It doesn’t mean I am wanting this law.

Can I please have a copy of your federally accepted ID to continue to access Lemmy? There is content on here that should not be accessed by minors. Please send it immediately or your access shall be cut off.

^^ Also… we have no way to securely prove this information and what you access will not be recorded, reported, nor used against you by any and all potential employers. Police and lawyers included. Hopefully you haven’t accessed any information related to communism, as the red scare is coming back hard.

Privacy is important to many people, apparently you think it is not.
