I was dumbfounded. I was like, how in the world can you parse someone who’s that incongruous in their own thinking? She was straight up bigoted against herself.

That’s pretty much it for many conservative trans folk. They use it as a form of self flagellation, because they honestly believe that something is wrong with who they are, and that they deserve it.
They just happen to think that whatever way they experience their trans identity is the least bad way to be trans and that it’s all of the other trans folk that are the real problem making it harder for them to live their self hating lives

Misgendering and deadnaming Jenner on lemmy does absolutely nothing to her. But you know what it does do? It tells every trans person that reads this, that isn’t Jenner, that you’ll deadname them too if they don’t meet your standards. It tells them that your acceptance of trans people is only for the ones you like, and is entirely conditional. It tells them that you are only humouring them.

Just because she’s a shit human being doesn’t mean she should be misgendered. I’m certainly not following anything Trump says regarding proper gender identification, whether I hate the person or not. And no, I don’t feel terrible for her in particular in the slightest.
