I’m not talking about fancy movies you mention to impress people with. I’m talking about movies you have seen many times and genuinely feel are really fun, even if their politics might be imperfect. The ones I have in mind are The Fifth Element, Robocop, Starship Troopers, and Independence Day.

Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13 - Ocean’s 8 was okay, but I would have liked to see more of the original cast. The trilogy is probably my favorite group of films.

Snatch - I can quote this movie all day.

The Cable Guy - Jim Carrey (I know) at his best. My friends and I used to put this on in the background and have the DVD on loop while we played Warhammer or M:tG.

The Hobbit (1977) - this movie is LotR for me. People like to gush over Peter Jackson’s LotR trilogy, but I much prefer the character and landscape designs of this old-ass movie.

The Labyrinth - a Jim Henson classic. While The Hobbit’s goblins are great, this movie takes the cake on goblin designs.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil - this movie is nonstop laughs and great comedy horror. Love how it subverts a lot of movie tropes.

Cabin in the Woods - Lovecraftian horror, SCP Foundation, and comedy all blended together for another movie full of laughs.
