Haven’t played this game yet. I will, but I’m trying to put space between the RPGs I play.
Eh, the zany self-referential/fourth wall antics are mostly limited to Yolande. Otherwise, it’s a great homage to Super Mario RPG, Golden Sun, Chrono Trigger, and so forth. I didn’t find it too distracting, but I also find it endearing when the developers use a goofball character to nerd out over the classics along with you.
Disclaimer: I’m only about 25-30 hours in on my first playthrough, and put it down a few months ago to perform my wifely duties (read: co-op No Man’s Sky with my spouse).
Thats cool! Self referential and fourth wall stuff has to be extremely specific and basically perfect for me to not absolutely hate it. Seeing a little bit of the games humour I think I will probably not enjoy myself ^^
The game is also very, very self-aware.
Very mild beginning-of-game spoilers
Ah, not my kind of thing then
